2024 Scholar
Jose Saravia is from El Salvador and he loves his family, perennial plants, sustainability, permaculture, and horticulture therapy. He has a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science. He is in the last year of his PhD in theology. Also, he is studying his last year in the horticulture technology program at Trident Technical College in Charleston. In his country, he was ordained as a pastor and he directed the young program acting for climate justice at the Salvadorian Lutheran Synod. Now he works for a hospital and he loves to be a volunteer at Charleston Parks Conservancy.
